Pakistan Face Big Blow Ahead Of 2nd ODI vs NZ, Opener Ruled Out Due To...

Pakistan opener Usman Khan, who made his debut in the first ODI against New Zealand, has been ruled out of the second ODI due to a hamstring injury, the ICC's official website reported. The 29-year-old sustained the injury while fielding during the series opener in Napier, and a scan after the game confirmed a low-grade tear. As a result, he will be unavailable for the second clash of the three-match series. The right-hand batter was not initially part of Pakistan's ODI squad for the New Zealand series but was included after the conclusion of the T20I series. He made his debut in the first ODI, scoring 39 off 33 balls. Pakistan suffered a 73-run defeat in the first ODI against New Zealand. Batting first, New Zealand posted a formidable total of 344/9 in their 50 overs, driven by a brilliant century from Mark Chapman. In response, Pakistan were bowled out for 271 in 44.1 overs, with Babar Azam top-scoring with 78 off 83 balls. Batting first, the Michael Bracewell-led side slam...

MS Dhoni No Longer A Match Winner For CSK In IPL. These Numbers Prove

One of the finest finishers in the history of the game, MS Dhoni is a name that needs no introduction. Over the years, Dhoni has led many successful run-chases, both for Team India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, the last couple of years have seen Dhoni's role evolve into something completely different. Dhoni has rarely come out to bat above No. 7. In fact, in the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), he played as a No. 9 batter, a never-seen-before feat for the former India captain. In the match against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday, Dhoni scored 16 runs off 11 balls but couldn't take the Super Kings across the line, as his side suffered a 6-run defeat. Once touted as the finest finisher in the game, Dhoni doesn't seem to have the same touch anymore. Since the conclusion of IPL 2023 season, Dhoni has contributed more to CSK's cause in losing matches than winning. Statistics suggest that. After Starc's Epic Fifer, Wife Alyssa Healy's Hilarious Social Media Post

Delhi Capitals (DC) have got off to the ideal start in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, winning their first two games, including a thumping win over previous year's runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). DC's biggest reason for victory over SRH was Australian pace spearhead Mitchell Starc , who grabbed an impressive five wicket-haul, running through the opposition top order. In the aftermath of the game, Starc's wife - Australia women's cricketer Alyssa Healy - made a cheeky post on Instagram to commemorate the performance. Healy plays for UP Warriorz in the Women's Premier League (WPL), but showed her support for Delhi Capitals in her post. "Go UP Warriorz! And Delhi Capitals I suppose..." posted Healy on Instagram, with a picture of Starc celebrating one of his wickets. The post was quickly noticed by Delhi Capitals themselves, who shared it on their social media. " Sahi uttar , Alyssa ji (Correct answer, Alyssa)," posted Delhi...

Shane Warne , arguably the finest spinner to ever play the game, breathed his last at the age of 52 after reportedly suffering a heart attack in April 2022. Warne was in Thailand when the news of his death emerged. While heart attack was cited as reason behind his demise, fresh details has emerged from the case, making some ground-breaking revelations. As per a report, an Indian drug could've been behind Warne's death, an officer who was part of the case investigation has revealed. According to Daily Mail , a police officer at the scene had found a bottle of Kamagra - a drug used by people suffering from erectile dysfunction. The drug has similar ingredients as Viagra but is reportedly not supposed to be used by people who have heart issues. A police officer, on the condition of anonymity, claimed that some senior people had asked him to remove the drug from the site as they didn't want the news of the death of a national figure like Warne to come out in such a manner. ...

A meeting in Guwahati featuring Ajit Agarkar, the chairman of the senior men's selection committee, and Devajit Saikia, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has been postponed. The meeting had originally been scheduled for Saturday.' There was also a possibility of head coach Gautam Gambhir being a part of the meeting, after being on an overseas family vacation. “Agarkar was scheduled to land in Guwahati on Saturday and have a meeting with Saikia, as per the original schedule. But the information of the meeting's postponement came out on Friday night itself. “As of now, there's no real clarity on when that meeting could happen now – either after second IPL game in Guwahati or in the first week of April. But whatever conversation happens in that meeting in future, all relevant details are believed to be coming out in public domain soon after,” said sources aware of the development to IANS. "Not This Year...": Ex-CSK Stars Mock RCB For Trophyless Record In IPL

'Ee Sala Cup Namde' is the most famous slogan used by Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans for their franchise in the Indian Premier League. RCB, a team that has been there since the inception of the event, has failed to win a single title so far. The viral Kannada chant means "This year the cup will be ours". The RCB fans use this slogan every year but their team fails to live up to the expectations. Out of the 17 concluded editions of IPL, RCB have made it to the final thrice but won none. While reflecting on the team's trophyless run in the tournament, former Chennai Super Kings players Subramaniam Badrinath and Ambati Rayudu mocked the side.  The interaction between the duo took place in a video on Badrinath's YouTube channel - Cric It with Badri . Badrinath interviewed Rayudu and asked him "will RCB jinx be broken this year?". Just after the question was completed, both the players shared a laugh at it. Rayudu then said, "Purely as a fan, an...

BCCI's Centre Of Excellence Set To Get New Spin Bowling Coach

The BCCI's Centre of Excellence (COE) will soon have a new spin bowling coach, replacing Sairaj Bahutule, who resigned earlier this year to join the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals. The COE, which has shifted to its new location in Bengaluru, was earlier known as National Cricket Academy (NCA). Since Bahutule left, the post lay vacant and now the board has invited applications for a role which will be "integral to the development and performance enhancement of India's spin bowling talent across all formats and age groups including India Senior Teams (Men & Women), India A, U-23, U-19, U-16, and U-15 squads and State association players training at the BCCI COE." On Team's Early Struggles, Ex-RR Star's Concerning Verdict: "A Bit Thin..."

Former India wicketkeeper-batter Robin Uthappa feels that Rajasthan Royals (RR) need to reflect on their auction strategy and analyse their shortcomings after suffering back-to-back defeats in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Rajasthan lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening fixture before facing their second straight defeat against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday. Despite adding 14 players of their choice in last year's mega auction in Jeddah, the Jaipur-based franchise have not found the right balance in the playing 11 so far. Compared to their batting line-up that features the likes of Indian stars Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel and Riyan Parag, Rajasthan fall short in the bowling department with struggling Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma. Archer conceded the most expensive spell in IPL history when he was hammered for 76 runs in his four overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. "They'll need to reflect on ...

"Made Archer Look Like...": KKR Star Sums Up De Kock's Class With Big Praise

In a dominant display at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Wednesday night, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) cruised to victory, chasing down the Rajasthan Royals' 151 with eight wickets and a comfortable 15 balls to spare. For Moeen Ali, making his debut for KKR, the win was a testament to the team's warmth and collective spirit. Ali was full of praise for de Kock, whose innings decisively sealed the match. He called it 'an amazing innings' and noted how the South African wicketkeeper made batting look effortless. "Quinton is an experienced player who has been around for a while now. It was an amazing innings, and he made the Rajasthan Royals bowlers, especially Jofra Archer, look like they were bowling quite slow." "I love meeting new people and being in new environments," De Kock remarked after his incredible unbeaten 97- the highest individual score for KKR in run-chases. "It is about finding your feet within the team. Sometimes the team acc...

RCB Youngster Uses Kohli's Perfume 'Without Asking'. Star Tells Him This

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Swastik Chikara left his teammates completely bemused with his recent antics in the dressing room. In a video shared by RCB, pacer Yash Dayal and captain Rajat Patidar revealed Chikara, 19, opened franchise icon Virat Kohli 's bag without permission and sprayed a bottle of perfume on himself in the dressing room. That too in front of Kohli. Guessing by Dayal and Patidar's face, neither of them would've even thought about encroaching Kohli's privacy. "We were sitting in the dressing room after our last game in Kolkata. He went and from Virat Kohli's bag, took out a perfume bottle and used it without even asking. Everyone started laughing. He didn't even do anything; he was sitting like this [gesturing]," Dayal said in the video uploaded by RCB. "Virat bhai was right there. I was wondering what this guy is doing," said Patidar, who led RCB to a win in their opening match of IPL 2025 against KKR. Wh...

Watch: Pant's 'Run Out' Attempt Against Ex-DC Teammate Is Hilarious

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant shared a lighthearted moment with former Delhi Capitals (DC) teammate Kuldeep Yadav during their intense IPL 2025 clash in Visakhapatnam on Monday. Pant, leading LSG for the first time, that too against his former team DC, was full of spirit, even though his side suffered a narrow one wicket loss. During DC's 210-run chase, Pant engaged in a lighthearted banter with his former teammate Kuldeep, who was one of his go-to bowlers during the wicketkeeper's time as captain of DC. The incident happened on the second ball of the 18th over, with DC needing 39 to win in 17 balls. Kuldeep tried to cut Ravi Bishnoi 's delivery off the back foot, but only managed to get an under edge. Pant collected the ball and pushed Kuldeep to the ground, before dislodging the bails, leaving the commentators in splits. The incident went viral on social media. Once In Depression After Axe By IPL Coach, Ashutosh Now The Next 'Chasemaster'

Ashutosh Sharma powered Delhi Capitals (DC) to an incredible victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2025, smashing 66 off 31 balls. Walking in to bat with DC struggling at 65/5, Ashutosh was the backbone as they chased down 210 with three balls to spare. This is not the first time Ashutosh has starred in dramatic run chases, having done the same for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2025. It is a sensational turnaround for the 26-year-old, who once had to battle depression after being brutally dropped by a former coach. The former coach, widely reported to be current Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head coach Chandrakant Pandit, had left out Ashutosh from his domestic side Madhya Pradesh's team. The drop had happened despite stellar performances from Ashutosh, which had caused the powerful finisher to almost lose his love for the game. "There was a time when I wasn't even allowed to get a feel of the cricket ground," Ashutosh had said to PTI in 2024, after smashing 3...

Sanjiv Goenka Breaks Silence Amid Buzz Over Chat With Pant After Loss vs DC

It was a disappointing start to the IPL 2025 campaign for Lucknow Super Kings and captain Rishabh Pant . Pant failed with the bat and also missed a crucial stumping in the final over of the match while Ashutosh Sharma produced a stunning batting display to clinch the match for Delhi Capitals on Monday. Following the loss, Pant was seen having a discussion with head coach Justin Langer and team owner Sanjiv Goenka. Social media was abuzz after the discussion as they referenced Goenka's heated interaction with then-captain KL Rahul during IPL 2024. On Tuesday, Goenka took to social media to share pictures of their interaction along with the caption - "Intensity on the ground, camaraderie off it. Looking ahead to the next one." "Not Part Of My Batting...": Ashutosh Opens Up On Explosive IPL Knock For DC

Following a magnificent 66* that led Delhi Capitals (DC) to a thrilling win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Ashutosh Sharma reflected on his mindset during tense run-chase, learnings from a solid 2024 debut season with Punjab Kings (PBKS) and his experiences with team mentor and English legend Kevin Pietersen. The Railways batter continued from where he had left off during the debut 2024 season with Punjab Kings, pulling off a clutch knock that lifted DC from 65/5 during a 210-run chase and failed all computerised and data-driven win predictors. Speaking after the match in the post-match presser, Ashutosh said that he was normal during the final phase of the run-chase and was confident about his abilities. "I was confident. It is a part of the game. But it was not a part of my batting. I was very normal, if he (Mohit Sharma) took a single, I would hit a six. I was confident about my ability. I was just following the process, to go as deep as possible ...

'Ball-Tampering' In IPL? CSK Duo's Act Caught On Camera, Video Viral

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) secured a convincing 4-wicket victory against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 opener on Sunday, with MS Dhoni 's lightening quick hands behind the stumps arguably becoming the biggest talking point. Rachin Ravindra 's 65 and Noor Ahmad 's 4-wicket haul were the top contributors to the Super Kings' victory in their opening clash, though the internet has alleged that 'another factor' could have contributed to the result of the series. A video has emerged on social media, featuring CSK duo Ruturaj Gaikwad and Khaleel Ahmed , triggering speculations of 'ball tampering' by the hosts at Chepauk. In the video, Khaleel and Ruturaj seemed to have exchanged a small item. The video concludes with the CSK skipper putting the item in his pocket. Irfan Pathan Left Out Of IPL Commentary Panel Over 'Personal Bias': Report

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan will not be a part of the commentary team for this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) season. According to a report, Irfan has not been included in the commentary panel for IPL 2025. Since his retirement from the sport, Irfan has been a regular member of the commentary panel in the IPL, becoming one of the most recognisable voices of the game. However, Pathan was nowhere to be seen during the opening match of IPL 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Saturday. According to a report in the Times of India (TOI) , Irfan has been snubbed from the panel as the "broadcasters were not happy with him bringing in personal grudges on-air and even on his social media handle." "Pathan had a fallout with a couple of players a few years ago. Since then, he has not shied away from referring to them aggressively. The matter was raised that other junior players got caught in the crossfire. He has bee...

BCCI Changes Big Rule For IPL 2025 After Shami Complaint, Lifts Ban On...

The BCCI on Thursday lifted the ban on use of saliva on the ball in the upcoming Indian Premier League after majority of captains agreed to its proposal. The decision was taken at the captains' meeting in Mumbai. "The saliva ban has been lifted. Majority of captains were in favour of the move," a top BCCI official told PTI. The International Cricket Council (ICC) had banned the age-old practice of applying saliva to shine the ball as a precautionary measure during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, the world body made the ban permanent. The IPL too included the ICC ban in its playing conditions in the aftermath of the pandemic but its guidelines are outside the purview of the sport's governing body. With the development on Thursday, the IPL becomes the first major cricketing event to re-introduce saliva's use after the COVID-19 pandemic. from NDTV Sports-Cricket https://ift.tt/3MbkS48

"Earlier My Aggression Was a Problem, Now My Calmness": Kohli Mocks Critics

Star India batter Virat Kohli opened up on balancing his calm and aggressive personas on and off the field, saying that people have had problems with both of his sides and his competitiveness has "not gone down" despite him becoming a calmer presence on-field in recent years. Virat was speaking on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. While Virat has become a much calmer personality on the field, he garnered controversy during the latest Border-Gavaskar Trophy for shoulder-charging a young Sam Konstas during his debut in the fourth Test at Melbourne and for his more taunting, in-your-face interactions with the crowd, which referenced to the 'Sandpaper Gate', the ball-tampering controversy which led to a one-year-ban on Australian stars Steve Smith and David Warner following a tour to South Africa in 2018. Speaking during the summit as quoted by ESPNCricinfo, Virat said, about his on-fi...

Playing Holi 'Crime': Shami's Daughter Becomes Cleric's Fresh Target

A cleric who had claimed cricketer Mohd Shami committed a sin by not fasting during Ramzan has described the Holi celebrations of the pacer's daughter as "illegal" and "against Shariat". In a video released late on Saturday, All India Muslim Jamaat president Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi said, "She is a small girl … If she plays Holi without understanding (it), then it is not a crime." "If she is sensible and still plays Holi, then it will be considered against Shariat," he added. Razvi said he had advised Shami to follow the tenets of Islam earlier as well. Despite that, a video was released of his daughter celebrating Holi. "I have appealed to Shami and his family members … Whatever is not in Shariat, do not let your children do it. Holi is a very big festival for Hindus but Muslims should avoid celebrating Holi. If someone celebrates Holi even after knowing Shariat, it is a crime," he said. He also congratulated the Indian cricket...

Pant is unique in way he scores runs: Denesh Ramdin

Rishabh Pant is among the top keeper-batters in the world for the manner in which he scores runs, feels former West Indies skipper Denesh Ramdin, who is here to play the International Masters League T20 tournament. "Obviously, Rishabh Pant is one—he's unique in the way he bats and scores runs. There's a young guy from Australia, Josh Inglis—he did well in the Champions Trophy. There are many young keepers coming through," Ramdin was quoted as saying in a press release. The 40-year-old, who played 71 Tests, 139 ODIs and 74 T20Is, feels that role of keepers have evolved over the years since Adam Gilchrist came into prominence. "Back in the day, wicketkeepers were primarily just keepers, but now cricket has evolved. The role of the keeper-batsman has expanded, starting with players like Adam Gilchrist, who opened the batting and excelled. Others like Quinton de Kock, Brendon McCullum, and of course, the exceptional Mahendra Singh Dhoni, have been fantastic in shapi...
